R-71 Protecting Member RightsIt was scary to submit rights of gay, lesbian and senior domestic partnerships to a public vote. But Dan Savage argued all along that our community would be better off letting this go to ballot, and win, and prove once and for all that our community DOES support equal rights. And we have become the first state in the nation to pass a statewide, pro-gay rights ballot initiative.

McGinn Seattle MayorDespite the uphill battle, SEIU Local 925 members chose to endorse McGinn based on his social justice values and his commitment to grassroots organizing. SEIU Local 925 was one of three labor unions to endorse Mike McGinn for Seattle Mayor.
