Bellevue Bargaining is Going to Mediation

The Union presented an economic counter-offer to the District at last night’s bargaining session.  Irene Eldridge, the Union’s negotiator went through the proposal with the District page by page.  The Union’s proposal covers economic issues for all SEIU units: AISP, Nutrition Services, Transportation and Warehouse.  The Union is holding to the 2% wage increase proposed to the District last week.
 
Bellevue SD Bargaining Team 09“The 2% we have proposed hardly covers the increased benefit premiums. Accepting 1% from the District is agreeing to a decrease in wages,” remarked Christy Ansari, bargaining team member.

The District’s team remained in caucus most Tuesday’s session. The Union and the District have agreed to seek the help of a PERC mediator.
