People in Washington are still being hit hard by this economy. The recession may be over for the rich and powerful, but not for the rest of us. Corporate profits and executive bonuses are back to record-high levels, but too many people in our neighborhoods can’t find good full-time jobs. Too many families are facing foreclosure and bankruptcy.
Rich people and big corporations aren’t doing their part. Healthcare, education and jobs in our community are getting cut, but the rich and powerful are not paying their fair share of taxes. We bailed out big business and we’ve given big tax cuts to the wealthy. It’s time for them to pay their share, create more jobs, and do their part to get this economy moving forward again.
Nobody is going to do this for us. We have been waiting for someone to offer a solution — but nothing has happened. That’s why we are joining together to speak out for the good jobs that will put Washington on the right track for our future.
