Child Care Guild

What is the Child Care Guild?
The Child Care Guild is a King County organization for teachers and Child Care providers working in child care centers, Head Start and other pre-school and after-school programs.
Our MissionWe at the Child Care Guild believe that quality early childhood education is essential to guarantee the sucess of children in our society.  We work to promote recognition of this belief, and the fair treatment of those working in this important field.

To accomplish this, the Union's work is:

  • To organize a diverse workforce in a democratic structure.
  • To elevate child care from a job to a profession.
  • To improve working conditions with better wages and better benefits.
  • To give workers a voice in work-place decisions.
  • To raise public awareness of the crisis in child care.
  • To advocate for child care workers in the political arena.
  • To meet the needs of child care workers so they can meet the needs of children and their families.
