Providers vote to approve updated contract

Congratulations! After many months of difficult negotiations with Washington State, Family Child Care Providers voted to approve updates to our 2015-2017 union contract with an overwhelming 97% YES vote.

We won:

  • Higher subsidy and base rates that will support high quality care
  • Bonuses for Early Achievers
  • Increased FFN Bonuses
  • Infant/Toddler slots
  • ECEAP pilot projects
  • More training funds
  • A substitute pool
  • Grants

We also won tiered reimbursement that will allow providers to continue to grow and invest in their childcare.

And our higher subsidy rates mean that qualifying working families will be able to access child care in more homes.

Our collective, powerful actions made a difference.

The power of our union is strong. To help win a quality contract, THOUSANDS of Family Child Care Providers and fellow members of our union made phone calls, sent emails, and visited legislators’ offices to improve Family Child Care resources!

We made sure our state elected officials knew the financial challenges of our members and the value of family child care as a vital choice for Washington families.

No doubt about it. When we are united, we win.

That’s why it’s so important that we continue to stay strong together and protect all that we fought to win when anti-worker groups like the Freedom Foundation’s attempt to weaken our union and sink all our gains.

Congratulations on taking action, standing strong together, and winning a quality contract for Family Child Care Providers!
