SEIU: Advocating For Quality Child Care in Washington State

Thousands of Family Child Care Providers joined together with SEIU 925 to win their first statewide contract. Home providers won increases in subsidy rates and access to health insurance, measures that will improve care for children by encouraging qualified, experienced providers to stay in the profession.

When they approved the Family Child Care Contract, the legislature matched it with increases to child care centers. Unfortunately that money is subject to the whims of legislators. That is why centers are joining together to create a long term solution like the family child care providers have.

SEIU Local 925 is committed to bringing Child Care Centers together so the whole profession wins the resources and respect we deserve.
