SEIU 925 Statement regarding the conflict in Gaza

SEIU 925 joins union siblings and other organizations around the world in support of an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. We call for an end to attacks on civilians in Palestine and Israel, immediate humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine, the safe return of all hostages, and long-term solutions that will bring safety, peace and justice to the people of the region.

SEIU 925 members work every day to create communities where all people can thrive. From child care providers to school employees, thousands of us work specifically to keep children safe while in our care; it is particularly heartbreaking and horrifying to see places like schools, hospitals, and homes  – spaces where we work with children–  targeted and destroyed. We are committed to working for a future where every child, from Gaza City to Tel Aviv and across the globe, can be safe, happy, and live with dignity.

Our members include many with family who have been and continue to be impacted by the recent violence and humanitarian crisis. We condemn antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, and hate in all forms. All people deserve safety, freedom from violence, and the opportunity to prosper.

We urge Congress and President Biden to use all diplomatic means to achieve an immediate cease fire, swiftly end the violence, and find a pathway to a lasting peace in Gaza.
